Fall Makeup Must-Haves: Drugstore Edition!

With the beginning of autumn officially starting next week I thought I'd share my favorite makeup products from the drugstore I will undoubtedly be wearing the entire season.

NYX Love in Paris: Pardon My French ($12.99)
I was obsessed with this palate all season last year and I know the same will be true this year. The copper toned shadows in this palate are perfect to incorporate fall colors into your makeup look without going to over the top. This palate is perfect for anyone who wants to experiment with some autumn hues without looking too bold.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush: Plum Wine ($7.99)
As the weather gets a little cooler I love to wear a darker blush on my cheeks. This beautiful plum color gives the illusion of frost bitten cheeks which I absolutely love. This is probably my all time favorite blush formula so I definitely recommend checking this one out.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick: Matte Confident & Black Cherry ($5.99)
Milani has, in my opinion, the best lipstick formula at the drugstore. These lipsticks are insanely pigmented and my perfect fall colors. I love the deep berry tone of 'Black Cherry' it's the perfect vampy lip for the fall time. 'Matte Confident' is my ideal matte red lipstick that transitions throughout the whole year, but I find myself using it the most in autumn.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Crayon: Bronze Truffle($6.99)
I have an entire post dedicated to this product which I'll link here. This product has proved especially perfect during the back to school season. When I have to get to school early in the morning the last thing I have time to do is put on eyeshadow, but this product is so easy that it takes me less than 10 seconds so I can get to school on time.
Essence Make Me Brow: Browny Brows($2.99)
The last product I'm mentioning in this post is the ultimate dupe for Benefit's 'Gimme Brow' with a $27 price difference I'd 100% recommend trying out this steal before splurging on the Benefit one. This is so simple to sweep through my eyebrows to get rid of any sparse areas without making my eyebrows look too over done.

I hope you found some new products to try out! Let me know in the comments if there's any posts you want me to do. Should my next post be a Fall Lookbook?

Thank You,
K

Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon Review!

I'm a major fan of the original Maybelline Color Tattoos so I knew when these came out I had to pick a couple up. I  have a post up from last year where I talk about my favorite colors from that line, click here to see that post. I picked these up yesterday so this will be a pretty short review.

1. I love these! They're super similar to the original, but I find them to be even creamer and easier to blend which is a dream come true.

2. This is the ultimate lazy girl eyeshadow. It took me less than 30 seconds to apply this and it looks like you actually spent time on your makeup.

3. I'm currently on my tenth hour of wearing these for the first time and they haven't budged one bit, or creased in the slightest!

I picked up two colors. 'Barely Beige' is on the left and 'Bronze Truffle' is on the right.

Left to Right: 'Barely Branded'(original), 'Barely Beige'(new), 'Bronze Truffle'(new), 'Bad to the Bronze'(original)
I wanted to compare these to similar colors from the original line. I expected them to be very similar, but as you can see they actually have a nice difference. "Barely Beige' has much more of a golden undertone than it's original counterpart 'Barely Branded', and 'Bronze Truffle' has a warm undertone unlike 'Bad to the Bronze'.

Overall I think these are fantastic, and I'll definitely be picking more of these up in the future. These retail for $6.99USD at Drugstore.com, but they're on sale for even cheaper at the moment! I bought mine at my local drugstore for $11.49CAD so I'd recommend checking online first!

Let me know down below if there's any other products you'd like me to review, or any posts you'd like to see!

Thank You,

August Favorites 2015

It's been a whopping total of four months since I've done a favorites post, but I've really accumulated some products over these last few months that I just needed to share with you. I haven't strayed from any of these products since I've purchased them and it's because I've finally found makeup products that give me the exact look I want.

1. Body Shop Body Butter in 'Mango'

I've talked about these body butters before in my favorites because they simply are the best. Basically this whole summer I've been exclusively using this moisturizer, I even had to buy the travel size because I couldn't go a day without it while traveling.

 2. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in 'Stromboli'

I always have a heck of a time finding foundation that matches my skin tone perfectly, but this one really did the trick for me. I've been using this for a few months and can tell you it really is worth the money. It stays on my face all day and covers everything while still looking super natural. If you want a full review on this foundation let me know down below!

3. Maybelline Master Conceal in 'Medium'

I recently r=discovered this concealer and if you're looking for a great drugstore steal this is it. I bought it for $7 at Target and it conceals any and every imperfection I have on my face without a doubt.

4. Anastasia Brow Wiz in 'Chocolate'

I know everyone and their mother raves about this product, and that I'm very late on the band wagon, but it simply is a great brow product. I hate over done brows and I'm always scared that I will end up with them after I do my makeup. This product makes it so easy to control how much you put on and makes it very easy to fix any mistakes.

5. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in 'Dark Brown'

I've been using Stila Stay All Day for years and have loved it whole heartily although I've never strayed from the black color. I wanted something slightly more natural so I went for their dark brown liner and I haven't touched my black one since. I love the look of brown liner. I think it defines your eyes without giving the impression that you're too done up.

6. Benefit High Beam

Before this I had never purchased a highlighter, I always felt it was an extra product I didn't really need and that I could save time by skipping it. I've found however that this is an essential to my makeup routine. It gives me the perfect glow that makes me look more awake and gives my face dimension throughout the day.

7. Benefit Benetint

Lately I've been really into cream and liquid products so I thought I'd pick this up and give it a try. I'd heard mixed reviews about it and I wasn't sure at first, but I'm really glad I bought it. This gives the most perfect flush to my cheeks and it's exactly what I've been looking for in a blush. I like to apply it using my MAC 168 brush and it applies perfectly.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I've been loving these last few months. If you have any requests of posts you'd like to see please leave them down below!

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes!

Today I wanted to share with you guys how I clean my makeup brushes. It's a very tedious task that takes me awhile to work up to doing but the feeling of clean brushes is awarding enough to make it worth it!

Things You'll Need:

Dish Soap
Olive Oil
1 or 2 Plates
A Bowl or Sink Full of Water
A Towel

I start by mixing 2 parts dish soap with 1 part olive oil on a plate and swirling my brush in it.

After working in the soap by either brushing the brush on your hand or a plate I ring out all the soap into the water.

I then mix it in the water and ring it out repeating this until clear water falls from the brush.

The last step is to lay it on a towel to dry!

Extra Tips:
-When I'm using a bowl I replace the water after I've washed about 8-10 brushes
-When I'm not feeling lazy I will use hair elastics to hold my brushes to a towel rod so they can drip dry (this holds their shape better!)
-You'll need to top off on soap and olive oil between 8-10 brushes as well
-The bigger the brush the more times you will need to ring it out to insure all the makeup is cleaned from it

Let me know in the comments if you have any other tips for washing your brushes!

Thank You,

April Favorites 2015

I haven't done a favorites post in what seems like forever I think the last one I did was at Christmas time so I thought it was definitely time to share what I've been loving.

L'Oreal Pop Balm in 518 "Tender Mauve"

Starting off with what I believe to be my favorite of the favorites is this perfect spring lipstick. I have not found a color or a formula I like so much in a long time. This lipstick gives off the perfect amount of hydration to the lips without sacrificing pigmentation to the lipstick. This rosey toned pink is one of those shades that I know will make my face look better no matter what. I'm definitely going to have to try out more colors from this range. If you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments!

Body Shop Body Butter in "Peach"

I bought this body butter last year at the end of the summer when I was moving on from fruity scents, but getting back in to spring I've rediscovered it and absolutely love the scent along with the perfectly classic formulation of the Body Shop's body butters.

NYX Blush in "Pinched"

This is the first NYX blush I've tried and I have to say I'm impressed. This blush gives the perfect flush of color and shimmer allowing me to skip the 'highlighting my cheeks' step of my makeup when I don't have that extra minute.

Marc Anthony Coconut Hair Oil

I've never really liked the idea of hair oil just because my roots are already so oily. Recently though my ends have been so dead and I needed something to help repair and replenish them so I saw this at the drugstore and picked it up. This really just hydrates you're hair and helps with flyaways without making your hair a greasy oily mess. A definite must try in my books!

Body Shop Hand Cream in "Strawberry"

The Body Shop really knows how to do moisturizing. In Canada for the most part we're still enduring some winter like weather and I've been getting dry skin that needs help asap everyday. This has been a life saver for my hands, and it's 'fresh field of strawberries' scent doesn't hurt either.

Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Wipes

This is my new favorite way to remove my makeup. For the most part this takes off all my makeup no fuss about it and leaves me with soft unirritated skin that I'm really thankful for.

Revlon Lash Potion Mascara in "Brownish Black"

I got this mascara about a year ago and I absolutely hated it. I don't know what made me pull it back out to try, but I'm really glad I did. This gives the most perfect natural fluttery lashes that are just so timeless for a fresh faced spring or summer makeup look. I've been loving wearing a more glowing and natural makeup look this time of year and this is the cherry on top for me.

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favorites, if you have any favorite products you've been loving please let me know down below because I'm always open to trying new things.

Thank You,

My Favorite Maybelline Color Tattoos!

Maybelline's 'Color Tattoos' have got to be my favorite cream eyeshadows of all time. I have a few more of these but I thought I'd share my favorites that I think are musts to pick up. They're a great dupe for the MAC paint pots and for a percentage of the price. My recommendation would definitely be to apply it with a brush. I used to apply it with my finger and I didn't get the effect I was looking for, but with a brush I get a perfect flawless all over color or base to my eyes.

80 Creamy Beige

This is the leather formula meaning it gives a super natural and matte base. I love popping this on as a base under my eyeshadow because it provides a perfect base that just smooths out any discoloration while still adding definition.

25 Bad To The Bronze

Now for most of you hearing this color name is probably not a surprise. This is a very well loved color by many many people. It is a gorgeous bronze color that in a single sweep can give you a complete eye look, that being said it still looks beautiful underneath shadows for a more smokey look.

 70 Barely Branded

This is a perfect light shimmery color from the metal line that acts as a great all over color or a has a nice highlight to your inner corner. My favorite way to use this is to apply it all over the lid and had a subtle transition color into the crease for definition.

Left to Right:

Creamy Beige

Bad To The Bronze

Barley Branded

I hope you found this interesting and have some ideas for products you should pick up. If you have any other favorites from this line or have any other cream eyeshadows you love let me know down below!

Makeup Haul: Sephora and MAC!

Last weekend I took a shopping trip into city. I finally got the chance to go into Sephora and MAC so I could splurge on a few items I've been lusting.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Medium Deep

This bronzer is to die for. It's very creamy and a little goes a long ways. When I first swatched it I thought it might've been a cream product but shortly after it set to a matte finish. This is perfect for adding a slight contour that you could definitely build up to be a strong one and it also adds a beautiful bronzed look to the face.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

I'm really late on picking up this palette but I thought better late than never. I originally went into Sephora wanting the Naked 3 which they ended up being sold out of. I'm happy I got this palette because I really don't have anything like it I think it's a relatively unique palette with gorgeous pigmentation.

MAC Lipstick in Peach Blossom

I haven't heard anybody talk about this lipstick before and I have no idea why. This is by far my new favorite lipstick it's absolutely stunning. It's the perfect nude pink my lips but better color. If you're on the hunt for an everyday nude or pink definitely check this one out.

I hope you found this post interesting if you have any ideas for new posts please leave them down below!

Question of the Day: What are your favorite high end products?

Thank You

January Favorites 2015!

Well it's been a fair while since I wrote a post, my uploading schedule didn't quite go so well. That aside though I thought I'd share what I've been loving this past month because it's one of my favorite posts to write. January being the month after Christmas allows me to have a lot of new products to try so I thought it'd be nice to share them with you.

1. The Body Shop 'All in One BB Cream' in the shade '03'

I've never been a huge fan of BB Creams because I feel I just need more coverage than they're able to provide. This one however is fantastic, it comes out white and matches your skin tone as you blend it in. That being said there are four different shades and they definitely suit lighter skin tones, I wear the darkest and I am no where near a dark skin tone. Besides not being suitable for everyone this is a great product with  great coverage and a beautiful flawless finish.

2. Bath and Body Works' 'Winter Candy Apple 24 Hour Moisture Ultra Shea Body Cream'

This is a long time favorite I come back to ever year. This is a limited edition Christmas scent that is brought out only for the months of November and December. What I love about this is that the scent is not strictly Christmas it's completely okay to wear this scent after Christmas. The scent is an amazing sweet sugary scent without being over powering. The reason this is in my favorites though is not because of the scent, it's because of the product it's self. I went on holidays to Hawaii for Christmas making my skin slightly dry and peeling afterwards. This is fantastic because it moisturizes and stays moisturized for hours. I can apply this in the morning and my skin still feels moisturized when I come home from school.

3. First Aid Beauty 'Ultra Repair Cream'

Now I'm sure this is not an unknown product to any of you. It's a highly raved about product and there's a great reason for that. This is the best and most hydrating moisturizer and it doesn't leave my skin greasy or oily at all. I love how big the tub it comes in is because I feel I'm really getting my money's worth. Again while on my way to Hawaii the plane did terrible things to my skin, it was super dry and patchy, and my moisturizer wasn't cutting it. I picked this up at Sephora while I was there and I'm so glad I did.

4. Zoya's 'Madeline'

I've been obsessed with this polish this past month. It is the perfect medium between a nude and pink and  mauve. It's one of those colors you just know you have to have the moment you see it. It's definitely a color I can wear all year round and be super happy with.

5. The Body Shop Eyeliner in 'Black'

I got this in my Body Shop advent calender and I've been using everyday since. It's just a great classic pigmented black kohl liner perfect for my waterline. It also has a smudging tool on the other side if you like to smoke out your liner.

6. Quo Blending Sponge

Now I've never tried the beauty blender but other reviews I've read on this say it's a complete dupe. This sponge is amazing for blending my concealer. I personally don't like it for blending foundation I feel I get a nicer coverage with my Real Techniques Brush, but for concealer I seriously don't know how I lived without it before.

7. Lancome 'Hypnose Star' Mascara

Holy moly what did my lashes do without this product. It is seriously the best mascara. I have tried many many mascaras and nothing will come close to this one. I makes my lashes long and volumized without making them clumpy or spidery. Really all I can say is go try this out you will not be disappointed in the slightest.

That's all my January favorites.I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I have a Sephora haul coming soon so watch out for that. If you guys have any favorites for this month or any post requests please leave them down below.

Thank You,

K
